About this Role

We are looking for a Front End Engineer who is motivated to combine the art of design with sound front-end development practices. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to implementation on several applications on our site. You will work with the UI/UX designers, product and marketing managers and bridge the gap between requirements and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop new user-facing features
• Produce true to specification UI, including responsive design and UX
• Developing and optimizing e-commerce services for SEO optimization and shopping feeds.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Write generalizable well-tested code
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Your Skills And Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in related fields
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Good understanding of React, Redux and Nodejs. Have exposure to front templating frameworks
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
• Basic understanding of web security
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• E-commerce provider exposure e.g. Shopify is a big plus

The position is a full-time role, initially reporting to the Head of Product of VIDA, and is 100% remote. Working hours are in the PST timezone. The position comes with competitive compensation and a great benefits package.
